The Boondocks is an Animated Satirical Action comedy sitcom Created and developed by Aaron McGruder. The show has been directed by Seung Eun Kim with Voices of Regina King, John Witherspoon, Cedric Yarbrough, Gary Anthony Williams, Jill Talley and Gabby Soleil. Its Theme music and Opening theme ‘Judo Flip’ has been composed by Asheru. Brian J. Cowan and Carl Jones have produced the show in association with Aaron McGruder and Rodney Barnes. Originally it is produced to be broadcasted on Adult Swim channel. Most of the show has been shot at Woodcrest, Maryland, USA, Seoul and South Korea.  Original run The Boondocks season 1 made its debut on November 6, 2005.

The Boondocks is an American series based on comic strip of same name by McGruder. Huey, Riley and Robert “Granddad” Freeman are the main characters and form The Boondocks family. Huey Freeman never smiles, generally mocked by his younger brother Riley and his grand father, Robert. In almost all of the episodes he remains narrator of the show. Riley Freeman is very clever and heavily influenced by gangster rap culture and black pop culture. This influence leads him and his grandfather to various misfortunes. Robert freeman, the grandfather and guardian of both loves them very much; they have recently shifted to Illinois, peaceful and fictional suburb of Woodcrest from the South Side of Chicago. They find it a little bit difficult to adapt to this new place instantly. Their differences in lifestyle and cultures become the source of jesting situations. The boondocks seasons have got very good response from viewers. 72% rating on MetaCritic, based on 21 reviews, was achieved by it on November 18, 2007. Peabody Award was won by the show in 2006 for episode “Return of the King” from the Peabody Institute.
