The Boondocks Episodes :- Return of the King
The episode deals with a unique and controversial subject. Martin Luther King Jr. is coming out of a comma of thirty two years and he is astonished to see the new world which he never dreamt off. While walking on the street named after him, he saw bullets being fired. The King signed a book and the movie was released after week of 9/11. Due to obvious reasons, it became a big flop and he met Huey and Riley in the process and started staying their house on their request. Huey inspired King to start a new Black Revolution Party and begin afresh the civil rights movement of the yesteryears.
They went on TV, but unfortunately, got very little public acceptance. As he got involved with the movement, he criticized the blacks on how they have accepted their humiliations of life without any protest. He also expressed his displeasure on the contemporary black cultures. The episode finally saw thousands of angry young black men and women shouting in front of the White House and a 2020 newspaper headlines showing King has died at the age of 91 and Oprah Winfrey is the US President. Huey concludes the episode with a statement that dreaming is always a fun.
