Regina king is the elder sister of actress Reina King. Born to Gloria, a special education teacher, and Thomas King, an electrician. She attended Westchester High School (Los Angeles) and the University of Southern California. She was married to Ian Alexander, but has filed in for divorce in 2006. She also has a son with him.

Regina’s first TV break came with sitcom 227 in 1985. After which she decided to take up acting as her full time career. Her movie debut came with “Boyz n the Hood” in 1991. She acclaimed name after starring in the blockbuster romantic comedy “Jerry Maguire” with Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr. She also played Will Smith’s wife in “Enemy of The State”. She has also been a part of the movies like Eddie Murphy, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. In 2005, she co-starred in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous as Sandra Bullock’s tough FBI agent partner.

Currently she has voiced the characters Huey and Riley Freeman on the Adult Swim show The Boondocks. Most recently she appears in the TV film “Living Proof.”
